There are many subject areas that can easily include important wellness information for students.
✅ Chemistry - Students should understand how some vitamins act as cofactors necessary for chemical processes in the body.
✅ Biology - Cellular structure building and maintenance are dependent on the consumption of proper nutrients.
✅ Chemistry - A healthy hormone balance is dependent on both proper nutrients and exercise.
✅ Biology - Kids should understand the theory of aging related to food consumption causing systemic oxidative stress on all cells leading to DNA damage and cellular degeneration.
✅ Musculoskeletal Health - Students should understand how to properly use resistance exercise to maintain bone density, lean muscle mass, and to address back and neck pain in addition to other joint issues.
✅ Cardiovascular Health - The most time efficient and most effective cardiovascular exercise should be taught.
✅ General Wellness - The importance of consistency, time-based exercise and planning should be stressed.
There are so many other examples and important knowledge that must be taught to ensure good lifetime health for our youth. We are currently failing our kids by not properly preparing them!
Statistics show large percentages of our children & teens are now overweight/obese and pre-diabetic! They not only need the right knowledge, they also need good examples. Our preventive health framework will get adults healthy as well to provide the desperately needed proper examples.
