Preventive Health Focus Areas |
Preventive Health Initiative is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) community health organization based in Nashville, TN. We act as the first option referral source for primary care physicians when patients are in need of preventive health services. The difference we make is by providing access to a health doctor, or in other words, a "medical personal trainer". Referral is not required and open to the general public. Areas of emphasis include:
» AT RISK YOUTH / TEEN HEALTH
» ADULT PREVENTIVE HEALTH
» HEALTHY AGING
A health doctor "medical personal trainer" is the missing link in our healthcare system. Our current "sick care" system is simply not sustainable. U.S. health care spending in 2020, reached $4.1 trillion or $12,530 per person! Nearly 20% of our entire Gross Domestic Product! » HEALTH DOCTOR
Preventive Health Focus Areas |
Approximately one-third of children and teens ages 2-19 in the U.S. are considered overweight or obese.
Lifestyle intervention should always be the primary treatment when faced with a newly diagnosed chronic health issue.
Avoiding chronic health conditions and maintaining strength, function and mobility are major goals for healthy aging.
Preventive Health proposes to place a licensed health professional directly into the community at a local public recreation facility to help those in the community reach their health goals. When our funding goals for the project are met, our services will be available completely free of charge. This project will act to support individuals who are attempting to make lifestyle changes in order to obtain better health and will serve as a model for communities throughout the USA.
